Change of Major

Students may choose to change their major at any time during the academic year.  However, effective dates for a change to a major will only be allowed during the add/drop period each semester or the first day of the semester following completion of the change of major form. 

 

The change of major effective date will be implemented for all students changing major within the Colleague system including students being admitted from pre-clinical program status to clinical program status.  It is not anticipated that this process change will impact a student’s ability to pre-register for courses in the selected new major.

 

Note: 

Currently, changes in academic programs can occur at any time within a semester. The Change of Major process change is being implemented based on a recommendation by Ellucian in hopes of resolving several ongoing internal and external reporting issues.
