PHAS 5779 Emergency Medicine
The Emergency Medicine rotation will help students develop clinical skills by differentiating between non-emergent and emergent patient presentations. Students will learn how to quickly assess patients without necessarily determining a final diagnosis. Complex issues such as health care disparity, violence, limitations of health care systems, chronic patient compliance issues, etc. will be presented. Because Emergency Medicine is a complaint-based specialty, each student's experience will be unique.
Prerequisite
