DPTH 7318 Pathology for Differential Diagnosis

This course is designed to provide the student with basic understanding of the cause of failure of normal physiological process in the body – the disease process. Emphasis will be on morphologic changes in cells and tissues that may have resulted in specific diseases, identifying causes of such changes (etiology), the mechanism of development of such changes (pathogenesis), and the clinical manifestation of diseases. In addition, the course will address the issue of how the failure of one organ system may affect the function of others.
