GRBO 3340 Great Books Seminar VII: The Good Community

What does a good human community look like? Are there diverse kinds of good communities? How might we achieve and nurture a good community? Why is it always so political? Beginning with ancient Greek reflections on the polis, this course explores insightful reflections on the good community, which may feature examinations of issues such as the relationship between the individual and the community, authority, freedom, family, and justice.
